{"id":203,"date":"2019-03-15T11:32:19","date_gmt":"2019-03-15T15:32:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/anyarleneberges.com\/?p=203"},"modified":"2019-05-13T11:34:40","modified_gmt":"2019-05-13T15:34:40","slug":"entities-agree-to-promote-dominican-gastronomy-as-country-brand","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/anyarleneberges.com\/en\/entities-agree-to-promote-dominican-gastronomy-as-country-brand\/","title":{"rendered":"Entities Agree To Promote Dominican Gastronomy As Country Brand"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u201c<em>Gastronom\u00eda Diplom\u00e1tica<\/em>\u201d (in English: Diplomatic Gastronomy) is an international promotion strategy for Dominican Gastronomy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>By: Jorge B\u00e1ez<\/strong>&#8211; <strong><u>SANTO DOMINGO<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0 03\/13\/2019<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">With the aim to promote Dominican Gastronomy, thus achieving its internationalization, and promoting the country as a culinary standard worldwide, the Ministries of Foreign Affairs (MIREX) and Tourism (MITUR) underwrote an MOU on Wednesday afternoon with the asset management firm INICIA.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Minister of Foreign Affairs, Miguel Vargas, the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Fausto Fern\u00e1ndez, on behalf of Tourism Minister Francisco J. Garc\u00eda and the VP of Communications and Institutional Relations of INICIA, Angie Berg\u00e9s, underwrote the initiative.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As was explained by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the initiative aims to \u201cpromote Dominican gastronomy all over the world, through this new program called \u201cDiplomatic Gastronomy\u201d, which also seeks to strengthen our tourism and country brand\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Vargas Maldonado said that the initiative also solidifies the public-private partnerships. Proof thereof is the partnership with INICIA, which he explained, has already carried out works of similar nature by organizing events and publishing the book \u201c<em>Sabores Ancestrales<\/em>\u201d (*Ancestral Flavors), which narrates the gastronomic history of our country.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He also added that \u201cGastronomy is a symbol of the identity of each country, and so this initiative aims to achieve that when the words \u201c<em>Sancocho<\/em>\u201d, \u201c<em>Pasteles en Hoja<\/em>\u201d (*pockets or Dominican-style tamales), Oregano-spiced goat, are spoken or heard, that they immediately connect to the Dominican Republic\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Meanwhile, on behalf of the MITUR, DM Fausto Fern\u00e1ndez expressed that our gastronomy is \u201cone of our national fortes\u201d. The MIREX-INICIA-MITUR initiative will create the \u201cperfect synergy to highlight this virtue of the Dominican People.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Anyarlene Berg\u00e9s from INICIA said \u201cwe believe wholeheartedly that our country can feel proud of its priceless cultural heritage. The myriad dishes that compose our gastronomy, are already a trademark unlike no other\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em>Diplomatic Gastronomy:<\/em><\/strong><em> is an initiative created by Chef In\u00e9s P\u00e1ez, also known as \u201cChef Tita\u201d. It consists of promoting our national gastronomy for business purposes by way of our foreign service representatives.
